BEAR promotes the education of people of all ages by offering boating/water safety programs. Whether you boat, fish, swim or enjoy living near the water, we wish it to
be an enjoyable and safe activity. Green boating education is included in all of our boating presentations.
Junior Boaters Boating Fun Workshop - This is a boating safety session, directed
toward our younger boaters. Age appropriate topics will include: importance of
wearing your properly fitted lifejacket, how/when to use the marine radio, importance
of knowing where you are on the water, effects of cold water, what to do in an emergency. Discussion and promotion of GREEN boating practices.
P.S. Grown-ups can learn too!

Suddenly in Command - What if the owner/skipper of the boat suddenly becomes
injured, becomes ill or falls overboard? You were just along for the ride, you don't
know anything about the boat, about what to do or how to do it - but...suddenly YOU
are in charge. Suddenly, YOU need to know how to run the boat, YOU need to know
how to use the emergency equipment, YOU need to know what to do in each
situation that requires action. Don't wait until YOU are suddenly in charge, learn the
basics before just "going along for the ride".
This demonstration is for those not generally at the helm, and will help you to “be prepared“ with the basics in case of an emergency. Helpful hints for boat owners to better prepare their guests.
Discussion and promotion of GREEN boating practices.
